Cupping therapy – bruises for health

I’m going to talk about one Chinese method for healing or just keeping us healthy. How could you explain why China has the biggest in number population in the world? Why Chinese people are the best workers in the world? I don’t know, but I think it has a lot in common with their traditional methods of healing.

People of China do live longer than the people from Europe, so you have to pay attention to this. Chinese medicine is energetic, while our medicine is materialistic.

I think we have to learn a lot from the Chinese traditional medicine. For the best result we have to pay attention to our energetic and materialistic part. So let’s talk about cupping therapy.

I have understood that cupping therapy has been a part of my country’s practices. Years ago our grandmothers had practiced cupping therapy at home.

They healed their children and grandchildren from variety of symptoms, especially cold and flu. Unfortunately my grandmothers have never showed me such a therapy. How does it work? It involves placing cups on the skin.

Firstly you have to warm the air within the cup and create a vacuum. When you place it to the skin, the tissue is drawn up into the cup.

Cupping method can be used for relaxing tissue, reducing the maker of the inflammation, for better circulation of the blood and “qi”, for removing toxins.

People also said cupping is the best way to get rid of stretch marks, scars and cellulite.

Cupping therapy is so old practice that can be traced back to ancient Chinese, Egyptian and Middle Eastern cultures. The technique is even described in one of the oldest medical textbooks in the world, the Ebers Papyrus, which means ancient Egyptians may have been using cupping therapy as early as 1,550 B.C.

Egyptians or Chinese invented the cupping therapy is not so important to me because more important is what we can gain from this method.

“Where there’s stagnation, there will be pain. Remove the stagnation, and you remove the pain.”

Chinese maxim

What are the benefits of cupping therapy?

The main thing that happens is to increase the blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. Thus the muscle tension can be relieved. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue. This is why many athletes use this method to relieve trauma. Cupping encourages tissues to relieve toxins. By affecting the bloodstream and the lymphatic system (our lymphatic system is responsible for eliminating your body’s toxins and waste), the toxins are moved out from the body. I have heard that if the bruises are very dark it means that you have a lot of toxins in the body.

Cupping therapy affects the parasympathetic nervous system. The PSNS is know as “rest and digest” or the “relaxation response” because it creates a restful state of optimal function. It slows heartbeat, stimulates glucose storage as glycogen, stimulates proper digestion, stimulates peristalsis and calm down the brain. By affecting the PSNS cupping can be use for anxiety, depression and insomnia.

Cupping can reduce stretch marks and scars. Cupping helps facilitate more oxygen rich blood to the area of cellulites and increase the fat cells to loosen up. Studies have shown the positive effects of cupping on stretch marks and scars even in areas that are far from the area where the cups are applied.

Cupping can be an effective treatment for cold and flu symptoms. That’s because cupping relieves congestion in the body and stimulates movement of energy to restore and heal. Usually the cups are placed on the back, but they can be placed on your chest. Thus the lung secretion will be stirred and moved out. Do you know people claim that the cupping therapy is the only way to get rid of flu and cold? People said that when the antibiotics don’t work the cupping therapy is the best thing to help them.

Cupping therapy is mainly a method that Chinese use to remove stagnation and stimulate the flow of qi (chi). Qi is the free flow of vital energy circulating through the body and the world around us, if the qi is disrupted or disturbed, it can create stagnation (blockages) or imbalances in the body. If you struggle with any pain that means there is a blockage. Cupping therapy will help to release this blockage and the energy will flow freely again. That will stimulate the natural healing processes.

My experience with cupping therapy.

I used to do Acupuncture regularly since I have experienced different neurological symptoms.

My condition began to improve but I owe it to the many things, that I have tried.

After Acupuncture I felt myself energised and trowed away many toxins with the urine.

For the first time I tried Cupping therapy long after my symptoms started. This is because my therapist told me the Acupuncture is more effective.

So I tried Cupping therapy out of curiosity.

Initially the therapist did a deep tissue massage which is pleasant and prepares the body for the cups.

When he placed the cups the first feeling was like your skin is a shirt that must be tightened with pins.

I felt so outstretched that if I breathe the cups will pop out. I’m slim and my skin is thin, so there wasn’t much skin to suck.

I didn’t get many bruises. I guess people with more skin will get more bruises.

My therapist advised me to drink a lot of water through the day so I will trow out the toxins that the cupping therapy had moved.

I drunk water with squeezed lemon and nettle tea to help my body exude the toxins.

The next days I felt myself energised and fresh. I will continue to do Cupping therapy because I know it helps my organism to deal with stress and keep my homeostasis.
